This is China’s largest city and major financial center, located on the eastern coast. To me, Shanghai is a wonderland of dazzling modern architecture, as it’s known for being a jungle of awe-inspiring skyscrapers! The city is also known for glamourous shopping venues and old European-style buildings.
I first visited here back in 2010 when the city hosted the global Expo event, then again most recently in 2025. Calling Shanghai bustling is a huge understatement, as you’ll see hoardes of people around everywhere you go – though the city has a very advanced transportation network so the immense population doesn’t cause too much traffic on the roads.
On the first evening I arrived here, I went for a walk on the famous pedestrian shopping street known as Nanjing Rd, popping with colorful shops & huge screens – as you can see below:

Next I reached the riverfront area where large crowds have gathered to watch an amazing laser light show over the downtown buildings.

During daytime I walked around the central business area itself to get closer views of all the creatively-shaped towers and building clusters, including the famous TV Tower. I experimented a bit with my photography angles here, trying to mix views of buildings, trees and myself in some inspired shots!

Went back to the shopping street again in daytime to get some brigther images:
