This is the largest city by population in India, which is the largest country by population in the world – so you can probably imagine how crowded it would be! Mumbai is set on a peninsula at the western egde of India, so it has a peculiar weather system known for torrential monsoon rainstorms. The city offers a mix of modern buildings (as the country’s financial capital) and also historic temples and monuments representing the cultural and religious diversity of the region.
I visited here back in 2017 and also more recently 2025; the photo you’ll see here are mixed from both visit as they cover different pasrts of the area. First are some scenes from the air that show how densely populated and built up this place is!
