Nestled among tropical forest mountains, San Jose is the capital and largest city of Costa Rica – a very popular tourism destination in Central America. The city’s modernization is clearly influenced by US styles (where most of its tourists and investors come from) but it also retains its Latin charm with old colonial buildings, narrow streets and mountainside gardens.
I visited here in summer 2023 and rented a car to our around the area. I’m intentionally mixing all the photos here to show the vast diversity of scenery here and stark contrast of modern & old!
