This is the elevated capital city of Ecuador, with cool pleasant weather year-round (although it sits right on the equator hence its name). I visited here in the spring of 2022, which it was still under precautions from the Covid-19 pandemic and mask use was mandatory in all places. The country is quite safe and uses the US Dollar as currency. Hotels were quite modern and nice, and I tried some of the local traditional foods.
