Khartoum

I visited Khartoum on a short business trip in fall 2012. Was nice to see this party of the world where you don’t find lots of photos or descriptions about. Khartoum has a calm and relaxed lifestyle on the Nile banks, albeit lacking in modern hotels and tourism setup. Although foreign food brands are not prolific, there are plenty of nice local eateries as well as a localized version of “Starbucks” where a tea lady serves customers from a huge pot while sitting by the river.

Most of the photos here are from the air, showing the flow of the Nile river through the city and surrounding agricultural blocks. (Click on photos to enlarge them)
