This is Holland’s second-largest city, located in the southern part of the country. There’s certainly a lot to see here for a small city, including an artsy train station, huge food market, well-designed bridges and plenty of dazzling architecture all around.
I visited here back in 2015, and more recently in 2022 – was driving a car in the latest visit and was able to see more of the area by road. As with most of the Netherlands, the weather is very “dutch” here and it can be sunny and rainy all at once!
As mentioned above, the central trauin station itself is a beautiful landmark to visit, even if you’re not using the trains! Heree are some pictures at the station and the area around it:
The station is right at the city center, with many large business & residential building surrounding it – as you can see below:
Next is the famous fresh food market known as the Market Hall (Markthal in Dutch). It’s housed in a huge cylindrical building with a dramatic glass facade, and full of all kinds of foods for sale!
