I visited this cute little city in July 2009 and again in 2022 (photos are from the most recent visit). Ljubljana is quite popular with European tourists in the summer months, albeit not too crowded. It was busing with liveliness and music, and its fortunate setting under mountains and along a riverbank helps it create a beautiful ambiance for elegant outdoor dinners and fun. Like most other Balkan capitals, this city also has a small castle (or “hrad”) atop a hill overlooking all parts of it.
